China successfully launched LandSpace’s Zhuque-2 rocket in early July 2023, powered by methane.

Chinese state media reported the success of the launch. This launch was a success, following a previous failure during the first launch attempt using liquid oxygen and methane technology. The data from the first experiment optimized the second launch.

Numerous countries are developing rockets for space launches. Methane, a greener, safer, and cheaper alternative to conventional rocket fuel, is also suitable for reusable rockets.

According to Reuters, Beijing Tianbing has also launched liquid-fuelled rockets, in addition to LandSpace. The use of paraffin instead of methane in this context is unequivocally more harmful to the environment. Furthermore, reusable rockets can be fuelled with kerosene-oxygen, which is a significantly more environmentally friendly option.
