According to the operator company, over the past three years, more than 30 different services based on the Gonets space system have been developed. These satellite services are actively expanding into areas such as transport monitoring, energy infrastructure, fishery fleet operations, and logging.
The Gonets system’s spacecraft and ground equipment aid in the continuous monitoring of timber harvesting in Russia. Specialised equipment transmits information on actual volumes, grade, and location of logging directly to the Federal Forestry Agency’s automated system through satellite channels.
The Gonets-M spacecraft resource facilitates data exchange between vessels and coastal services for fishery fleet monitoring. The Gonets satellite system offers cheaper services compared to its foreign counterparts.
Additionally, new subscriber terminals allow for voice messages to be transmitted and received via satellites.
Currently, the Gonets system has 18 spacecraft in its orbital constellation, providing mobile satellite communication services that cover the entire Earth, including the World Ocean.
